Stylesight traveled to Basel this weekend and attended the inspiring Scope Basel International Contemporary Art Show in Switzerland.

Scope Art Show presented its seventh Basel edition alongside Art Basel, and this year was held at a new location: in a 4000 m2 pavilion in the Klybeckqual area on the river Rhine.

Featuring over 75 international exhibitors with pioneering work across multiple creative disciplines, Scope Basel 2013 provided a wonderful moment to explore new innovative creativity in the contemporary art market. This fair was a fascinating exhibition of young, upcoming and talented artists. Noticeable were the variety of galleries and the great amount of international artists they displayed. This included highly talented artists like Bernardi Roig with his Der Italiener Sculpture – who was also featured at the Venice Biennale – and the acclaimed El Anatsui who displayed his wall sculpture made out of bottle tops.

This year, Scope’s Breeder Program celebrates its 13th year of introducing new and upcoming galleries to the international contemporary art market.
