Last week the Active Team was invited down to the Saturdays Surf showroom for a glimpse at its S/S 13 collection of apparel and accessories. We’re HUGE fans….first supporting the guys’ vision (Josh Rosen, Morgan Collett and Colin Tunstall) since day one when their store originally opened on Crosby Street in SoHo. So, with thus being said, it comes as no surprise that its S/S 13 range is a winner in our books.
Falling in line with three different themes and trends we first saw earlier this year at both the LAUNCH trade show in Santa Monica, CA (back in July) and AGENDA (in August), Saturdays equally hits a few identical marks in overarching visions the skate and surf worlds are embracing for next Spring and Summer.
First up are florals. We couldn’t get enough of them at AGENDA and think what Saturdays has done is spot on. It’s always refreshing (and interesting) to see men incorporate a bit of traditional feminine flair into their ensembles:
Next up is the exponential growth from the surf x motorcycle cultures. Bridging the gap between scenes, Saturdays holds true to the ethos from both worlds by showcasing authentic pieces that one would wear in either scope:
And finally, “The Cabana Boy” look, drawing inspiration from the bright worlds of Miami Beach and Boca Raton in Southern Florida. Crystal clear pool blues, cornflower yellows and flamingo red pinks speak to man with keen sense of direction:
Thanks again to the Saturdays crew and keep your eyes peeled for selections to hit stores come Spring!
