If your closet is looking for an injection of something new, the new youth focused fashion collaboration from Urban Outfitters and Vans is probably for you.
Vans and Urban Outfitters are launching a limited edition women’s capsule collection with “American Honey” star Sasha Lane as the face of their campaign. The 11-piece collection celebrates authenticity and self-expression, wanting to empower women to embrace their own unique fashion look.
Sasha Lane has been making waves in the film industry as a breakout actress who speaks her mind, defying everyone’s expectations of her (we did a mini shoutout to her in our youth film blog round up here). In addition to her acting talent, Sasha Lane is known for her radical individualism and unapologetic personal style, making her a perfect fit as the face of the collection. She recently told Teen Vogue for its Love Issue “Don’t put me in a box because I have dreads and tattoos or assume I’m a hippie. I’m not obligated to be anybody’s anything…I will figure things out as I go. I want people to see something authentic and real and achievable.”
On set for the campaign, she expressed how she always strives to be genuine and raw in everything she does. She thinks this is what has drawn so many people to her, and these fans look up to Sasha to find their own sense of empowerment within themselves.
The campaign was shot in London by American photographer RJ Shaughnessy. The collection will include apparel, footwear and accessories and includes pieces with the iconic Vans checkerboard print and “Off the Wall” logo. Prices range from £35-£150, dropping in stores and online on April 3rd.
