Fashion junkies were lined up halfway down the block last night in Chelsea for the opening of the first solo gallery show from photographer Scott Schuman (above) – aka The Sartorialist
. Strongly suspecting that the man who sets the standard for fashionable street photography would draw a smartly dressed crowd, I turned up camera in hand and was not disappointed. While Schuman was busy meeting his admirers, I picked up the slack on the sartorial documentation front. I hope I didn’t let him down… (The Sartorialist
runs through Feb. 23rd at Danziger Projects, 521 West 26th Street, New York. Check it out if you’re going to be in town for New York Fashion Week.)
Their manner of dressing above really suits them. Don’t you think? Classic American Ralph Lauren meets Annie Hall bohemian quirky.
Head-to-toe perfection above. My female style award of the evening.
My love for tights knows no bounds, but it’s the blood-red nails against her grey dress above that really catches the eye.
Wooden-heeled wedges above by Marni.
Her mod red/white/blue necklace above right by Topshop.
The high-waisted trousers, the slim belt, the two-tone jazz oxfords, the mustache. Dude is killing it. My male style award of the evening.
