Sao Paulo has no shortage of high-class hotels, but if you’re looking to stay near the bohemian Joaquim da Távora Street and would rather spend your hard-earned reais on drinking and dancing, We Hostel is the place for you. Located on a quiet corner in the traditional Vila Mariana neighborhood, this minimalist hostel is housed inside of a refurbished 1910 mansion, with much of the original detailing intact. The 46 vacancies are divided into six dorms, one room for couples (complete with a queen sized bed and a balcony), one private room and a women’s only suite. Towels, bed linens, WiFi and even breakfast are included in the super-reasonable rate, and staff is always on hand to assist you in planning adventures around the city. Comfortable common rooms boast chalkboard ceilings, vintage decor, and a full bar. So if you’re heading to Sao Paulo on the cheap, look no further than We Hostel. —Ashley Churchill
