Milan: Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti has taken the House of Ferragamo to a level beyond the leather bags and horse bit loafers of its past. For S/S 12, the designer was inspired by Pablo Picasso at work in his studio in the South of France. The brilliant mix of utilitarian details — like self-belts and cargo pockets on safari jackets — combined with a decidedly artistic appreciation for soft watercolors and summery awning stripes, made for a true testament to quiet luxury. —Michael Fisher
