Salvatore Ferragamo

Set to a soundtrack of galloping horses, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti presented a cast of colorful characters that seemed straight out of the most luxurious stables imaginable. Bulky knit scarves added dramatic volume to multilayer looks, while slim tailored pants remained tucked into luxe leather boots. The toggle coat was the outerwear piece of choice, shown in paneled wool, plaid mohair and a long sherpa-lined version. Saturated jewel tones stood out against a palette grounded in the colors of the earth, adding to the richness and extravagance of the collection. Shawl collar sweaters, some offered in coat lengths, were among the most beautiful seen so far in Milan. A final group of formal looks that included paisley-patterned velvet jackets were anything but classic black tie.
