As we round up the S/S 11 denim look books, here’s a selection of Women’s denim brands doing something worth shouting about:
L.A.-based Play Me jeans, the new affordable denim brand with more than a little of a 90s vibe about them, releases their summer of love collection with muted pastels, Aztec prints, cropped 90s tees and military influences all in the mix. Always big fans of the brand, we look forward to their new collection at the Las Vegas trade shows.
The London-based Superfine girls continue to inspire with some great new innovations, including a leather ergonomic laced skinny and a sporty satin and leather paneled style all in a beautifully muted neutral palette for summer.
Another L.A.-based brand, Wildfox Couture, showcase their third season of denim offerings. The look book has a beautiful, hippie vibe with 70s high-waisted green cast shorts, button-through skirts, acid wash finishes and Pop Art bright skinnies.
Italian brand, Cycle Jeans, formed in 2000, release a quirky look book for S/S 11 full of great fashion denim must-haves. The denim utility-all is the star of the show with chambray sport shorts, a laundered shirt with a frilled front placket, and the all-important peg-leg trouser following closely behind.
New York’s Blank NYC are always on the ball with new trends. Their summer offering focuses on some key new short shapes and details including 70s patch pockets, elasticized waistbands and 90s visible button flys. Other highlights include the worker-inspired loose pant and the updated western shirt.
