Many New York designers sent rich purple down the runway in a range of shades from bright violet to deep blackberry. The color looks particularly new for tweeds, giving that traditional fabric a nice update. Other materials getting the purple treatment are silk jacquards, fluid jerseys and nylon. Styling purple with analogous tones like magenta, ultramarine or orange looks freshest. – Sharon Graubard
