Oskar Schlemmer, 1920s Bauhaus artist and choreographer (whose work was on display earlier this year at a dance exhibit at Paris’ Pompidou and at the “Life as Art” exhibit at the Barbican in London), seems a guiding spirit this Spring. Spiraling effects, clean-lined cylinders, rounded edges and the use of graphic black-and-white create a science fiction meets lady-who-lunches look — seen through a slightly off-kilter Cabinet of Dr. Caligari-esque lens. – Sharon Graubard
