RUFFIAN

ruffian.jpg

NEW YORK…Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais have taken inspiration from a number of youthful subculture in the past fews seasons. For spring, it was a look at the looseness of the ’70s, a much more deconstructed look than seen this week for F/W 09. This time around, Ruffian sent models down the runway who could have been extras from Gossip Girl gone slightly bad. The ladylike, buttoned-up vibe was given some edge with touches of long fur, sheer hosiery and sky high heels, as well as undone hair and scarlet lips. Look to Ruffian’s latest for an inspired take on juniors appropriate sophistication through essentials like cropped jackets, houndstooth, and bow tie blouses.
