Rubelli announced the launch of Studioart, dedicated to the application of highly refined leather to interiors, at their London showroom during the March 2014 Design Week.

Studioart is an Italian company founded by Nadia and Gianfranco Dalle Mese, offering beautiful leather walls, crafted in their family-owned tannery. Here they have been working with high-end fashion brands for a long time, a rich experience which, together with their creativity and their commitment to pioneering technological innovation, motivated the company’s decision to bring Studioart to life.

Their brand has quickly become the benchmark when speaking of high quality leather for interiors, offering astonishing custom-made leather wall panelings with styles ranging from contemporary to classic, to suit many different environments and lifestyles. Leather thus becomes a key player in the interiors world, opening up the path for a new way of conceiving this versatile material and its application. The leather wall panels, appearing as tiles, meet various needs of style and space, enabling endless solutions and combinations in multiple patterns and colors.

In 2014, two new collections are introduced: Star and Outland, designed to join and complete the wide range of products already offered by Studioart, adding a fresh and up-to-date touch. Highly tactile, these collections are a combination of different techniques from embossing to high-relief effects that, thanks to technology, enhance the natural characteristics of leather and give way to cutting-edge 3-D designs. This new way of understanding leather and its application to wall coverings adds personality to each of Studioart’s collections, bringing walls into focus in interiors decor, becoming an active part of the furnishing.

Studioart and Rubelli will both be part of the upcoming unmissable Milan Design Week, and while we look forward to seeing more of these striking products there, Stylesight subscribers can check out our trend analysis of leather and its applications in interiors here. – Vittoria Toffoli
