How’s this for making a tough promise and keeping to it? Ambitious US womenswear discounter Ross Stores opened 19 Ross Dress for Less and seven dd’s discounts stores across 14 different states in September and October.
The openings also complete its 2015 expansion plan to add 90 stores during the year; 70 for the former and 20 for the latter brand. Not bad eh?
Ross chief development officer Jim Fassio, noting the group also entered its 34th state in October, opening three new stores in Wisconsin, said: “Our ongoing focus remains on expansion across both existing and newer markets, such as the Midwest.
“Longer term, we continue to plan for significant growth throughout all markets, and remain confident that Ross Dress for Less can grow to 2,000 locations and dd’s discounts can become a chain of 500 stores.”
Ross Dress for Less currently operates 1,276 locations in 34 US states, and dd’s discounts has 172 stores in 15 states.
