New York: Jill Stuart looks to the 70’s for inspiration this autumn/winter 15/16. Suede topcoats, A-line minis and knit turtlenecks were the basis of the collection. Lurex, lamé, and shine were incorporated throughout interwoven into the fabrics, as patterns, and through embellishments. The mainly neutral palette of black, white, tan, and brown were accented by rich, deep tones of port and teal that were almost blackened. Dark grounded floral blooms and ditsy’s romanticized and softened the more masculine pinstripe patterns. Footwear and accessories were a mixture of exotic skins and suede perfectly complimenting the mini-length silhouettes. Favorite looks include an allover sequin mini dress and the deep port patent leather topcoat.–Jaclyn Jones
