Paris…Rick Owens decided to create an entire collection built around taking stereotypical traits of the American tourist abroad but remixed into something stylish and directional. The whole point was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but the show actually came off as a work of genius in the end. Typical tourist attire like denim, high-top sneakers, and sweatsuits got the Rick Owens touch when built into something much cooler. An asymmetrical zippered bomber received patches of tonal denim and leather sleeves; high-top silhouettes were elongated into boot form and made out of shiny leather; activewear was spun into a color-blocked sleeveless suit made of jersey, paired with shorts. The flowing shapes of jackets looked especially strong with the tailored shorts down below. Dramatic necklines and hooded details put extra attention on the delicate fabrics used. If all tourists looked like this, the world would certainly be a better place!
