We recently came across these amazing pictures from a rare and much sought-after book, Rockers Style on the inspiring Jake Davis Blog.
The film Rockers is a Jamaican film by Theodoros Bafaloukos, shot in 1977. It features several popular reggae artists and was originally penned as a documentary but blossomed into a full-length feature on the reggae culture at its peak.
Cherry Kaoru Hulsey, wife of the film’s producer Patrick Hulsey, was on set throughout the filming and she put 500 35mm slides, taken during the filming of Rockers, together in this amazing and incredibly rare book, Rockers Style. The book was published predominantly for the Japanese market and is almost impossible to find now. These images are a great inspiration for guys 70s styling as well as color- for the full sixe images check out Jake Davis’ blog post.
