Milan: If Roberto Cavalli’s title as fashion’s most rock-and-roll label was ever in question, the designer made it clear that he was still the reigning king of rocker-chic this season. Celebrating his 40th year in business, Cavalli showcased the luxe bohemian looks that have brought him such long-lasting success. Leather jackets, embellished pants and filmy dresses were slashed and laced back together, making for skin-baring, seductive looks. Sequins, embroidery and beading embellished pants and sheer chiffon dresses, while swinging fringe was used for everything from bags to necklaces to pants. Exotic skins including croc and python were key materials, and their patterns were also used for prints. Though the daring looks were not for the faint of heart, they are sure to appeal to Cavalli’s core customer, the rock-loving girl with a taste for glamour.
