Richard Chai – S/S 2012

richard chai spring 2012

New York: A candy-colored palette, cheery patterns and active influences freshened Richard Chai’s men’s collection this season. The designer brought back his trademark grunge layering and relaxed fits, but added ultra-modern hawaiian prints, pretty brights and items inspired by baseball and basketball to the mix as well. Oversized soft suiting and piped baseball shirts conjured the pajama trend, and mesh was employed to construct jerseys and tanks, as well as trim dressier tailored pieces. Simple but charming accessories, like straw baseball caps and oxfords with contrast soles, completed each look. –Whitney Kessler
