Located in the four-star La Maison Champs-Elysées, the only hotel decorated exclusively by Maison Martin Margiela, the newly opened 80-seat La Table du 8 is stunningly simple and insanely elegant, an excellent choice for a special night out in Paris.
Decorated in pure white with surreal touches such as extra-large wingback chairs, doors painted on walls, oversized moldings, false ceilings and alcoves that appear to be a never-ending series of cubes, La Table du 8 is another triumph for the Maison Martin Margiela team, a whimsical yet chic space designed to function as a perfectly complementary backdrop to beautifully presented food.
Chef Benoit Hilaire and his staff are true artists, crafting classic French fare with a decidedly modern touch. Indulge in foie gras, roasted cod and tuna tartare, and don’t skimp on dessert: La Table du 8’s chocolate-based delights are already gaining quite a following. In warmer months try to snag an outside table, but if you must sit inside be sure to secure one with a view of the hotel’s magnificent garden.
