The Stylesight Graphics team loves these colorful retro-inspired and executed artworks from U.K. illustrator Paul Thurlby.
Great use of color and graphic print effects give these delightfully retro artworks a standout visual touch. Originally from Nottingham and now based in London, Thurlby has been a fulltime illustrator since 2006.
Thurlby explains, “The inspiration for my work comes from mid-century design and illustration. My style has been described as being retro-modern. I use old books, postcards and pieces of paper for the backgrounds to my illustrations which often, for example, involves buying an old book from a charity shop just to use it’s back cover!”
We love the authentic retro styling of Thurlby’s quirky crafted alphabet and number visuals. This is a graphic look that is trending in the kidswear graphic tee and giftware market at the moment. Definitely an illustrator to watch out for.
