Six NYFW shows that brought the catwalk to the public

URBAN AGENDA
New York: When Reed Krakoff burst into the scene three seasons ago he was criticized for his unflattering cuts and masculine styling. The designer seems to have taken the comments to heart, as his fourth offering was the best to date. The androgynous silhouettes that he loves so much were softer this time round, and better for it. A putty colored look consisting of cigarette pants and a boxy sleeveless top was the perfect mix of hard and soft. Krakoff’s palette of black, white, lemon and orange was perfectly in tune with what is happening in New York this week. The designer unexpectedly experimented with prints and placed an exaggerated bird print over a series of silk separates to stunning effect. The evening dresses, never Krakoff’s strong suit, were executed in leather and sheer silk to varying degrees of success. Standout was a sharp black pantsuit with white color blocks. We look forward to more of Krakoff’s tailored delights in the future.
