Last night the Stylesight team stopped by Saturday’s in Soho to check out the Hurley by Pendleton Capsule Collection. As always, Saturday’s — Manhattan’s official surf-based boutique– provided the perfect backdrop to launch the collaboration. Industry insiders enjoyed Rye whiskey bottled by local distillers Tuthilltown Spirits and freshly grilled brats, while Magdyn Osh – outfitted in the collection– performed live in the backyard of the store. For New Yorkers, that rarely get to spend any quality time outdoors, it really doesn’t get any better than that. Surfboards, beards and cured meats. Where do we sign up?
Fun fact that we were not aware of (shame on us)….. “Almost 50 years ago, the Beach Boys helped establish a reputation for Pendleton among the surf circles with its “Boardshirt,” an all-purpose, all-weather flannel worn both on the beach and in the water (before wetsuits). Recognizing this, Hurley Clothing approached Pendleton about resurrecting the Boardshirt and renewing it with a modern flair. The result is the Hurley/Pendleton Boardshirt”. Genius.
The collection will be available exclusively at Saturdays in New York from December 10th to January 4th, so get in gear and get that special surfer in your life the ultimate flannel update.
