After ninety-one World Records were set in 2008 with the Speedos LZR Racer, FINA banned its wear in competitive swimming creating an excess of stock and material. The swimsuits were ultrasonically welded together for a seamless fit, so the unsold pieces made for a dynamic material to experiment with.
“This latest project follows the preview of the ‘From Somewhere with Speedo’ collaboration at London Fashion Week in September 2010. Made from unsold Speedo stock the collection created by award winning sustainable fashion designers ‘From Somewhere’ is due to launch in early 2011,” as stated from a Speedo release.
The Active Team can’t wait to see the next collection this spring!
