Rebellious youth on a pedestal at Raf Simons

Paris: Raf Simons showed his rebellious spirit once again. The result was a youthful collection that ticked all the right boxes – models walked on a raised catwalk sporting floor-length looks and graffiti-like drawings and slogans. The long and lean silhouettes nodded to the seventies – overlong gilets were presented with raw edges, shrunken intarsia knits came in bright hues of red, green and yellow, while white lab coats were covered in rebellious-filled artwork. Precise tailoring was interrupted on jackets by shredded cuffs and glossy outerwear injected a dose of futurism to the lineup. Trousers were a dream too – long tailored styles were flared and knitted trousers were updated with raw edges. An outstanding collection charged with melancholia, youth and charm. – Diego Sanchez
