Product hangtag for the new RL Vintage collection.
Ralph Lauren fans, take note: the quintessential American designer launched a new initiative this fall that will see iconic pieces from the archives return to current store shelves, including a clever, interactive production method that puts RL collectors and fans in the proverbial driver’s seat. The RL Vintage line will feature a rotating selection of revived archival pieces selected by Ralph himself and an ongoing “Bring it Back” piece voted into production by the general public via the RL site [ed. note: the first in the series is the charming Polo Bear Sweater, with a variety of outfits up for election here]. What’s more, each reissued product will be accompanied by its story and the design inspiration behind it, giving fans a closer glimpse into the world of Ralph Lauren.
Serious collectors from around the globe- motivated at turns by a personal and professional interest in vintage RL, and often both- feature on the website, sharing their affinity with the brand, favorite pieces and their own personal journey with the Ralph Lauren label. For several Tokyo collectors, a love of Ralph Lauren translated into retail ventures that specialize in vintage RL. For still others in New York, a lifelong obsession with the label has fueled and informed a creative career path. Discover these stories and collection highlights on the website, and check back seasonally for more collector profiles.
