Double RL, the vintage-based, highly exclusive wing of Ralph Lauren, launched their Americana-inspired workwear online.
Founded in 1993 by Ralph Lauren, the Double RL brand was created as a modern tribute to the independent spirit of the untamed West, and the tireless resolve of the American worker. Both the brand name and logo are tributes to Mr. Lauren’s working RRL cattle Ranch in Colorado, which exemplifies the soul and lifestyle of the brand.
The foundation of Double RL lies in timeless wardrobe staples; authentic American made hand-finished selvedge denim, military-grade chinos, tube-knit T-shirts, thermals and flannels. In addition to these iconic styles there are seasonal vintage-inspired collections, along with a full collection of accessories, including handmade belts, bags and leather goods.
With the label being notoriously difficult to obtain and the shrouded mystery surrounding the label, we have really appreciated this revealing webpage. It allows you to check out the collection, both core basics and collectibles, view the lovely RL style guide. The imagery for the sight draws upon a true old world feel featuring RPPC & tin type style photographs that look like they were taken straight outta the Disfarmer studio. Looks take inspiration from both military and civilian clothing from the early 20th century onwards, and much of what is shown on the site follows similar designs methods to that period.
