As you’ve probably noticed, we’re big fans of the guys at Raleigh denim and their ‘made in America’ purist approach to denim production. Well they’ve teamed up with NY store Barneys to release a very special, hand dipped indigo chambray jean:
Using Cone Mills White Oak Chambray, the jeans were individually hand dipped in an Indigo bath by indigo obsessive Susan Oliver Fennell. In the accompanying video below Susan talks us through the indigo dyeing process and offers an insight into the oxidation process of hanging the jeans outside in the sunlight. It further proves the growing ‘hand crafted’ movement and the return to artisanal, slow-fashion production. The jeans are exclusively available at Barneys at $265 while stocks last.
