SHADES OF BLUE COLLAR
New York: Designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville set aside their usual penchant for British tailoring in favor of the uniform of the American laborer. In shades of blue and grey denim, chambray and duck canvas, the Rag & Bone man for S/S 11 is more interested in rugged authenticity than dapper tradition. Raw denim coveralls paired with suede work boots, while waxed jeans pieced with tonal denim scraps for a reinforced look. Even a scoop neck tank top with cargo shorts found just the right balance of summer weight and traditionally sturdy fabrics. A chambray shorts suit, unraveled sweaters and indigo-dyed shirtings had heirloom-worthy details for another season of utilitarian luxury.
