New York: This season, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright were inspired by The Dakar Rally, the annual off-road race from Paris, France to Darkar, Senegal. The designers combined influences from both locales for their collection, creating a romantic-moto look. Leather pants, pieced knee patches and biker jackets were a literal take on motocross gear, but the addition of cotton tunics, dirndls and built-in headscarves gave things a nomadic twist. Juxtapositions like distressed, neon green leather paired with vintage-y lace, evoked a traveler, collecting eclectic items off the beaten path. —Anna Jane Davis
