While in Paris, we made the essential pilgrimage to Colette on rue Saint-Honoré — the most official lifestyle store in the world — we were stoked to see the Quiksilver x Kumagai project featured front and center. To celebrate its 40th anniversary Quiksilver called upon Japanese photographer Takashi Kumagai for a mini collection and a series of the artist’s photographs. This collection is available exclusively at Colette.
The theme of the Fall/Winter 2009 collection for Quiksilver was “Mt. Beach”, a hybrid inspiration that combined elements of surf and traditional outdoor apparel. Authentic items like the down puffer vest and buffalo check button front shirt/jacket truly embody the spirit of the collaboration, bringing together two ends of the active spectrum.
