MILAN…Isn’t it why the fashion flock comes to Milan season after season? To watch a show like this, from Donatella Versace, to sit back, revel in the colors, the shapes, the short lengths! Imagine for a half hour that you live that lifestyle (have that body!). Her collection has been so subdued of late and this season was no exception, a collection of polish and restraint. There was but one print; created by artist Tim Roeloffs, a collage of prints culled from the House’s archive. There was variety here to be sure, little dresses to shrug on and top off with a fur or a leather coat. Red carpet habitués were also well taken care of, a series of goddess gowns literally floating down the runway (how many will be flown over to Hollywood in time for Sunday evening’s Academy Awards?). In the end though it was the color palette that really struck the right chord. Ranging from jewel tones to hot pink and then cooling down to sea-foam and nude for the evening gowns. A perfect note on which to end the week.
