As the world of fashion and sport continue to influence each other, designer collaborations evolve at a steady pace. Boxing served as a muse for the PUMA by Alexander McQueen F/W 09 collection, as the experimental designer, know for his outrageous and organic style, honed in on the essence of “Power” and how that relates to contemporary sportswear. “Physical and mental power exist at the very core of sport, and the collection strives to interpret and convey it in innovative and unexpected ways.” The brand image, created by McQueen and fashion photographer Nick Knight is represented by the “Crane vs. Tiger” identity, which is woven throughout the collection.
Key Pieces of the collection include tapered sweatpants and nylon windbreakers in shades of burnt teal and crimson.
Embroidered and embossed details are found on weight lifting inspired belts and sneakers.
