After a brief animated film about the history of the famed knitwear company, Pringle of Scotland sought to change the perception that their sweaters are only worn by the traditional grandfathers of the United Kingdom. Designer Clare Waight Keller sent out a F/W 10 collection comprised of a poetic array of comforting knitted layers, most in a palette of luxe neutrals. Leather neck gators and tactile-rich sweaters added an interesting element of toughness, contrasting with the quintessential softness of the collection. Coats and sweaters that made use of mixed materials or textures were the most successful pieces, keeping the assortment in line with current trends and helping to move the house beyond argyle classics.
