The lovely guys at Lee Europe sent us a little ‘care package’ in the post yesterday, lots of lookbooks and a great book that’s been inspiring them lately, ‘From The Hip: Photographs by John ‘Hoppy’ Hopkins’.
We had to share their gorgeous S/S 12 lookbook images with you, as the layout and product shots are really inspiring, as is the fantastic collection of course!
As most of you know, the Lee® 101 collection takes inspiration from the brand’s rich heritage and history and strong workwear roots but adds a distinctive sartorial twist, giving items a preppy, refined and sophisticated edge – we’ve been fans of the range for a number of seasons now.
For S/S 12, Lee® 101 looked at the hallowed preppy years of the 60s when sharp silhouettes and slim, neat looks reigned supreme; fine tailored garments, slacks paired with rich toned knits and indigo hued shirts offer an almost Ivy League sensibility with seersucker blazers and button downs adding sporty pep to knee skimming shorts.
A key denim highlight is the 5 dip natural indigo selvedge: this new denim micro-range is a 100% natural indigo, 5 dipped dream – the shade is a particularly special green cast with a rigid gloss. The Denim is dyed and then woven on rare vintage looms that over the last 50 years have been used in the very same manner, by skilled craftsmen, in Japan – gorgeous!
Look out for our F/W 11 look-book report coming soon, where we’ll also be featuring their outdoorsy, woodcutter looks, which are equally lovely – good work guys!
