For Fall 2011, Club Monaco culled inspiration from the ’50s beatnik movement, David Bailey’s photography from ’60s Berlin, Leon Levinstein’s street style photos, and the iconic style of Jane Asher, Edie Sedgwick, and Jean Shrimpton — resulting in a modern bohemian collection. The lookbook, shot at the Academy mansion in New York, features Tati Cotliar and Snejana Onopka wearing a mix of throwback pieces ranging from vintage print dresses to structured leather-pocket pencil skirts.
The men’s collection always pull in inspiration from the beatniks and David Bailey’s photography. Mis-matched tailoring, striped knit ties, clean-cut chinos and a subtle bit of ruggedness make up the decidedly masculine collection of classics.
