Delvaux, one of the oldest fine leather luxury goods house in the world, recently invited us to preview their Spring/Summer ’13 collection at their historical Paris Atelier. Founded in 1829 by Charles Delvaux, the brand quickly expanded from a humble shop window in Delvaux’s studio to an internationally acclaimed presence in the fashion world. Recognized for their distinctly classic styles, the house of Delvaux insists on creating every bag with the same quality of care and attention today as they did 120 years ago. Each Delvaux handbag is painstakingly handcrafted and comes with a card bearing the signature of the master craftsman that constructed it at one of their historic ateliers.
Delvaux’s latest collection is a testament to their timeless style, featuring supple calf leathers sourced from tanneries in France and Italy as well as rare exotic skins including alligator, crocodile, python, lizard and ostrich. The Brilliant MM handbag was updated in new colors and embellishments. Bold neons gave the classic bag a pop of color while oversized gold pyramid studs and peace signs decorated classic black bags. Smooth leather cuffs with gold hardware coordinated with the bags.
