Each season, in addition to our in-depth catwalk reviews at WGSN, we spotlight the early trends that are coming through.

Right now we’re in the middle of Pre-Summer 2017 and key themes are already emerging from the shows.

Spotted at Carven, Versace, Rochas and Missoni; it was all about socks teamed with sandals.

A flurry of socks and sandals styling within Pre-Summer 17 collections nods to the increasingly important transseasonal mood. References include 1970s disco, 1940s eclectic and androgynous sports function, as flat slides and extreme heeled styles are seen in equal measure.


If this trend were a person it would be: Man Repeller meets Justin Bieber.
