Cut in generous proportions and floor-sweeping lengths, this key item adds a relaxed appeal to your overall look, says the WGSN Catwalk Team

Each season, in addition to our in-depth catwalk reviews at WGSN, we spotlight the early trends that are coming through.

Right now we’re in the middle of Pre-Fall 2016 and key themes are already emerging from the shows.

Spotted at See by Chloé, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Jason Wu, ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo and MM6 Maison Margiela, it was all about the Relaxed Wide-Leg Trouser.

The wide-leg trouser continues from S/S 16, cut in generous proportions and floor-sweeping lengths. The use of oversized checks in masculine tweeds and chintz cottons is new for Pre-Fall, giving the look a relaxed masculine appeal. Soft crepe adds a feminine touch, particularly when coloured in soft pink.

If this trend were a person it would be: Actress Diane Kruger
