Pre-Fall 2016 Catwalk Alert: Dispersed Florals
By Hannah Watkins

Not just for your garden, florals are back, scattered across dresses and outerwear, says WGSN Senior Editor of Prints & Graphics Hannah Watkins

Jan 13, 2016

Each season, in addition to our in-depth catwalk reviews at WGSN, we spotlight the early trends that are coming through.

Right now we’re in the middle of Pre-Fall 2016 and key themes are already emerging from the shows.

Spotted at Christopher Kane, Fendi, Chanel, Ganni and Sachin + Babi, florals were key. Flowers were sparingly scattered across dresses and outerwear as designers embrace negative space for a contemporary floral refresh.

Key materials: All manner of techniques emerge, from sequinned embellishments to pieced fur. Graphic outlines, as seen by Christopher Kane and Chanel, feel the most new, as florals are stripped to their simplest form.

If this trend were a person it would be: Solange Knowles
