Feeding the relentless demand for new fashion, Pre-Fall collections have become an increasingly important drop in the fashion calendar. Filling the gap between summer and winter major collections, these bridging lines are nothing short of the complete collections that come down the catwalks. Playing on similar themes of summer collections or sometimes reflective of the men’s autumn/winter collections which are previewed around the same time these mid-seasonal drops are worth keeping an eye on for what to expect next season.
In line with our Key Item’s Trend Analysis, available for subscribers here, we call out our top denim looks from the season:
1. Paul & Joe
Winter is all about clean and refined denim, and Paul & Joe’s double denim look complete with longline denim coat and coordinated wide leg flare is the way to do street-smart cool in fall 17.
2. Mother of Pearl
One of the main design houses keeping denim firmly on the London catwalk is the brand Mother of Pearl, with its out-of-the-box thinking. The label is taking denim out from its traditional realm with clever cuts and original styling that give indigo looks a totally fresh identity. We love these bell sleeves teamed with snap-button pants.
Off-White’s creative director Virgil Abloh can do no wrong as of late with his concept cuts, statement styles and those killer yellow utility belts appearing on the backs, waists and legs of fashion editors and street styles stars alike. For Pre-Fall its all about the volume pants and more statement prints that will keep the brand firmly fixed in our Insta-feeds.
4. Karen Walker
Western style is woven into the history of denim so its no surprise the theme pops up season on season. Karen Walker has a penchant for denim design and we love her ultra clean take on the trend with this lush glossy raw denim set.
5. Versus Versace
Whether its exposed zippers at Off-White, or Ambush’s pierced denim jackets, designers have been looking to statement hardware as a feature to update classic denim silhouettes with a street-ready look. Versace taps into the look with nylon strap pocket fastenings and exposed zipper trucker jackets.
