WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE
Milan: Taking a page from a family photo album from the 1970s, Miuccia Prada – with the help of long-time collaborator architect Rem Koolhaas – built a large-scale, two-story doll house complete with linoleum floors, through which to parade her lifesized Ken dolls. Ill-fitting outerwear and oversized patterned knits looked offbeat yet tasteful and wearable, proving again that Prada is able to sidestep the sartorial restrictions that seem to plague other menswear collections. A new visual vocabulary of proportions unfolded from the designer’s insistence on an open mind and renewed interpretations of the past.
