Who would’ve guessed rubber bands would be the next big craze? Brightly colored Silly Bandz are rubber bands that gradeschoolers are collecting, trading and stacking on their wrists. The bands come in crazy shapes (dinosaurs, cowboy hats, stars–the list is endless!) and part of their charm is no matter how much they’re stretched the bands go right back to their original shape. Because kids love collecting all shapes and colors the fad is sweeping schools (and some offices, our receptionist is a proud collector), causing such a commotion in classrooms that some schools have banned the bandz. To keep up with the frenzy, Silly Bandz is churning out new shapes and colors in record time. New tie-dye and glitter series have kids anxiously waiting.
