Creating a new channel of communication, Lee Jeans’ Make History project, went beyond all expectations. The contest attracted all ages and all walks of life, while engaging them in a shared dialogue within each of its communities. The launch date was January 2007 and over two years, 16,109 entries were submitted from 90 different countries, all wanting the coveted title of best picture story, working together to be something far greater than the sum of its parts. More than a thousand entires were featured online, while 173 were printed and published in leading magazines across Europe. The winner, Rossella Dimichina, of Italy, and her work entitled The Weak in Wonderland, was featured with 100 other shortlisted picture stories is currently on display in a London gallery as the exhibition travels to major cities across Europe.
