As summer finally gets underway in keeping with a return to simpler pleasures, picnicking is having something of a renaissance. Recently, Topshop U.K. announced bandstand picnics throughout England for the month of June, complete with old school sports days and face painting.
Another U.K. brand that is celebrating the picnic is Anorak, a cute, eco-conscious outdoor supply company. Laurie Robertson created Anorak to “encourage people to treat their outdoor space as their living-room”. With Anorak’s playful designs, it’s easy to think that is possible. Anorak offers functional yet attractive printed picnic blankets, carryalls, sleeping bags and cool bags. Ever conscious of her eco footprint, Robertson manufactures everything in the U.K. from durable and waterproof materials.
Simple prints like the Kissing Animals pattern of animal silhouettes in summery colors, and the newest collection, Ropes and Boats, taking inspiration from the British Seaside add to the sense of holiday nostalgia.
