New York: Talitha Getty and her cadre of fashionable nomads provided the inspiration for Peter Som’s most recent resort collection. Morocco, one of Ms. Getty’s favorite destinations, was referenced with vivid blues and whites, as well as patterns that resembled tiles found in the country. Bow blouses, harem pants and a floor-sweeping printed dress all looked like items Talitha would have worn. Prim lace dresses, pieced tweed items and slim cropped pants perhaps didn’t evoke “gypset” style, but they were commercially viable and fit well with the rest of the collection. The aforementioned tweed had a splotchy textural look, an interesting twist on the classic material. A couple tuxedo jackets were included in the collection, providing a masculine counterpoint to all the florals and sweet lace. –Joanna Manganaro
