Perry Ellis

New York: For S/S 12, Perry Ellis creative director John Crocco looked to the Painted Desert in Arizona for inspiration. The result was a perfectly languid collection of time-honored classics and sun-baked pastels. Summer-appropriate fabrics like cotton-linen blends and washed suede added rustic appeal to the relaxed but refined silhouettes. Drawstring linen pants, gauzy scarves and short-sleeved cardigans with faded dishcloth stripes all helped complete a look that was as much about leisure as it was refinement.  —Michael Fisher
