Imagine the grace of a ballerina, and the journey they take you through with their movements — now apply that to a musician and you’ll get Oh Land.
Nanna Øland Fabricius was born on the outskirts of Copenhagen, surrounded by a creative family; with an opera singing mother, and an organist father. Fabricius’s ethereal vocals and variety of instruments — such as an omnichord — will take you through many different emotions, and create a feeling that is undeniably unique.
A true performer at heart, Fabricius trained as a ballet dancer turning to music after sustaining an injury that ended her dancing career. She employs tribal-inspired percussion, soft layered vocals, and projections on white balloons in her show — touches that are guaranteed to pull you in. Summed up perfectly by Fabricius herself: “I want my music to feel like 2050 meets something really classic; like meeting a stranger that feels as familiar as an old friend”.
Now signed by Epic Records, Fabricius will begin her US tour in March with Orchestral Manoeuvers In The Dark. In an industry of manufactured pop stars, it is exciting to hear something original, from a performer that is talented, and breathtakingly beautiful.
