Paul Smith

paul smith spring 2012

Paris: Paul Smith’s signature preppy looks were updated with witty trompe l’oeil prints and details and made cool with rock & roll accessories and attitude this season. Patchwork and color-blocking were both prominent design details, and print motifs and collars were cleverly imitated by contrast stitching. A techno neon plant print and metallic bouclé yarn modernized classic sweater styles, while tailored items were offered in high-shine fabrics. Scruffy and disheveled grooming, leopard oxfords and hip round shades balanced the clean-lined clothes. –Whitney Kessler
