Utilising Print Club’s original screen printed artworks and Urban Cottage Industries’ letterpress and linotype machines, to produce a collection of personalised greeting cards with a difference. Last week Stylesight went along to their launch at MC Motors; a stunning venue next door to Print Club, London.
Fans and friends were invited over to get their fingers inky, and see a traditional linotype machine at work. Over 800 people attended, and whilst drinking mojitos and eating pizza, we watched as master technicians showed us the ropes, partying and printing into the night!
The greeting cards are available to buy online at www.urbancottageindustries.com with the first designs including work from Pure Evil, Alice Stallard, James Joyce, Margaux Carpentier, Anthony Peters and Print Club’s creative director Rose Stallard. Customers can input a line of text when ordering online, the text is then cast on a linotype machine and finally letterpress printed inside.
