When it comes to graduate fashion shows, Parsons’ is a huge event. Why? Because you know, without doubt, you’re seeing future design stars at the beginning of their careers – and that’s pretty exciting. Ahead of the school’s MFA catwalk show, we’ve picked out six designers you need to know from the class of 2015…
1. Katherine Mavridis
The Australian designer describes her aesthetic and technique as “approaching clothing in response to a feeling rather than a tangible object or idea, aspiring to sculpture, form and nothingness”.

2. LIYA LIU
Liu, originally from China, revealed the inspiration for her collection is “the trash mountain in New York City. I also drew from my personal experiences and the huge amount of waste within the fashion industry”.

3. SISI LIU
How does the designer describe her technique? “Oriental but also international. I like to mix two opposite things together, not only in terms of colour but in terms of shapes and material.”
4. RYOHEI KAWANISHI
When it comes to finding inspiration, the Japanese designer revealed he heads to “Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond and hardware stores”.
6. PENGJI CAI
This Chinese designer isn’t just a student at Parsons. “I recently started working for Oscar de la Renta as an assistant designer and draper,” he revealed.
